The Story
Trilly the peacock wasn't known for his majestic silence. Forget the quiet grandeur of a fanned tail, Trilly announced himself with the fanfare of a malfunctioning car alarm. Every sunrise, he'd launch into a series of earsplitting shrieks, each one punctuated by a frantic jiggle of his bedazzled fan. Imagine a disco ball made of feathers, possessed by the soul of a particularly dramatic opera singer. That was Trilly. The other peacocks, with their more dignified displays, would roll their eyes (or at least, their impressively large eyeballs would roll in their sockets) at Trilly's flamboyant antics. But hey, Trilly didn't care about subtlety. He just wanted the whole world (and maybe a few passing squirrels) to know he was the most fabulous peacock this side of the Mississippi.
